Flag Designs

Gallery

Ever since I could remember, I've always enjoyed the design of flags. It was only after I saw the presentation by Roman Mars of Radiotopia's 99% Invisible, and listened to the 99% Invisible podcast "Vexillonaire" that I began to design my own flags.

Here are some of the ones that I have made, while it is still a hobby for me, I certainly hope that one day a city or state will adopt a flag of mine to be enjoyed and used as a symbol of civic pride!

Boston, Massachusetts
Ninety Six, South Carolina
Greenville, South Carolina
Greer, South Carolina
Columbia, South Carolina
Milledgeville, Georgia
Barnesville, Georgia
Metter, Georgia
Houston, Texas
Waynesville, Missouri
Reno, Nevada
The Great State of Nebraska

Out of the 547 submissions, my flag for Columbia, SC is one of 19 finalists in the flag design contest, hosted by The Columbia Design League and One Columbia for Arts and History.

The winning design will be officially adopted as the city flag, and as of November 2017, a winner has yet to be named. Be sure to read the article from local newspaper, The State to see the other 18 finalists.

More Redesigns

"When city leaders say, 'we have more important things to do than worry about a city flag', my response is if you had a great city flag, you would have a banner for people to rally under to face those more important things."
